Geometrical Curiosities
In this post I will expose some curiosities of different areas that have in common some relationship with geometric figures:
The sewer covers are circular and not square, because a square drain cover could slip through the hole and fall into the drain, when we turn it to the side.
The largest geometric solid made by man is the pyramid of Cheops in Egypt and was built in the 25th century BC. It has a height of 138m and the square base has a side 230m. It covers an area of 54,000 m 2 and was made with more than two million blocks of stone, each weighing an average of 2.5 tons.
Of all the plane figures with the same perimeter, the circle is the one with the largest area.
At Expo 98, the Swiss flag could see a hypercube.
